![]() In January of this year, a five-man committee was formed within the Pierceton Fire Department to explore the possibility of replacing the department's tanker with a more efficient and safer model. Initial meetings to decide what kind of qualities a new tanker would require turned to months and endless hours of research and phone calls to places all over the U.S. As of Tuesday, Pierceton Fire put into service a 2001 Mack CH 613. In layman's terms, it's the best tanker for the community and Washington Township, and for the taxpayers, it isn't costing any extra money.
